Overview
The Yamunotri Kedarnath Yatra from Haridwar is an 6-day yatra that unites two separate experiences of the Himalayas, namely the Yamunotri Temple and the Kedarnath Dham. The tour begins at Haridwar and proceeds up to Barkot, from where the first phase of the yatra begins. On completion of the Yamunotri portion, the itinerary changes to Guptkashi for Kedarnath.
Whereas this route does not allow for a brief visit to both places via temples, the itinerary allows for different days for trekking and travelling for each pilgrimage place. The pilgrimage to Yamunotri involves a trekking distance of 6 kilometers, while the Kedarnath portion involves 30 kilometers of road travel along with 20 kilometers of trekking. Later, after visiting Kedarnath, pilgrims return to Guptkashi.
