Day 1 : (Dehradun to Barkot With the Himalayan Journey Beginning (169 kms / 06 hrs 55 min)
Day one will start from Dehradun to Barkot, where travellers can cover about 169 km in about 6 hours 55 minutes. Once the journey starts from the plains, the terrain starts changing into the mountains of Uttarakhand. The overnight halt point is at Barkot, where travellers prepare themselves for the trip to Yamunotri the very next day.

Day 2 : (Yamunotri Darshan and the Return to Barkot (34 kms drive & 06 kms Trek one side)
The pilgrimage reaches its first Dham today. Travellers drive around 34 kilometres before undertaking the approximately 6-kilometre one-way trek towards Yamunotri. After the temple visit and time at the pilgrimage area, the route returns to Barkot. Since walking forms a major part of this day, travellers should keep their day bag light and wear reliable footwear.

Day 3 : (Barkot to Uttarkashi Through the Mountain Landscape (80 kms / 03 hrs drive)
The itinerary moves towards Uttarkashi, with approximately 80 kilometres of road travel taking around three hours. Compared with some of the longer transfer days, this journey is relatively shorter and shifts the base closer to Gangotri. Uttarkashi becomes the overnight point before the next day’s dedicated excursion to the second Dham.

Day 4 : (Gangotri Excursion and Return to Uttarkashi (240 kms / 06 hrs)
Gangotri receives the focus on Day 4. The excursion covers roughly 240 kilometres in total and takes around six hours of driving. Travellers can complete their Gangotri Darshan before returning to Uttarkashi for the night. Keeping warm layers, water and other personal essentials within easy reach can be useful during this longer mountain excursion.

Day 5 : (Uttarkashi to Guptkashi Ahead of the Kedarnath Visit (240 kms / 06 hrs)
The route now changes direction towards Guptkashi, the next important base in the pilgrimage. The journey covers approximately 199.6 kilometres and generally takes 6–7 hours. This travel-heavy day positions travellers for the Kedarnath section that follows, while also providing a transition from the Gangotri side of the circuit towards the Kedarnath region.

Day 6 : (Kedarnath Darshan With the Trekking Route (60 kms by road & 40 kms trek
Kedarnath forms the main focus of the sixth day. The itinerary includes around 60 kilometres of road travel and approximately 40 kilometres of trekking for the round journey. After completing Darshan, travellers return according to the scheduled plan. This section requires greater physical preparation than the regular road-transfer days.

Day 7 : (Journey From Guptkashi to Pandukeshwar (163.2 kms / 05 hrs 30 min)
The pilgrimage continues towards Pandukeshwar after the Kedarnath leg. The listed journey covers about 163.2 kilometres and takes approximately 5 hours 30 minutes. The route gradually brings travellers closer to Badrinath, with Pandukeshwar serving as the base before the final Dham visit.

Day 8 : (Badrinath Temple Visit and onward Journey to Srinagar (21 kms + 165 kms / 06 hrs drive)
The fourth Dham is covered today. After visiting Badrinath Temple, travellers continue towards Srinagar. The itinerary lists around 21 kilometres for the Badrinath portion followed by approximately 165 kilometres towards Srinagar, with around six hours of driving. The day therefore combines the final major Darshan with the beginning of the return leg.

Day 9 : (Srinagar to Dehradun and End of the Pilgrimage (119.2 kms / 02 hrs 32 min)
The final road journey takes travellers from Srinagar back to Dehradun. The distance is approximately 119.2 kilometres and the listed driving time is around 2 hours 32 minutes. After reaching Dehradun, the itinerary provides transfer towards the railway station or bus terminal, bringing the scheduled Char Dham journey to an end.
