Best time to visit the iconic Golden triangle

The summer season: summer season In India prevails from March until June. these months are not so favorable to travel. Especially, the Northern part of India is generally hot and dry. The temperatures range between 30°C to 45°C. The heat is scorching during the summer months, which makes it very unpleasant to travel. The majority of people are uncomfortable traveling due to excessive heat and heat waves. But at the same time, budget travelers and solo travelers prefer to travel in the summer season. During this time of year, you can surely find no crowds and enjoy lower rates of accommodation. During this season, you can explore the magnificent Mughal architecture of Agra, including the iconic Taj Mahal, without many tourists. Jaipur's vibrant markets are also less crowded, making shopping a more relaxed experience. However, we highly recommend you carry water bottles, high SPF sunscreens, hats, light cotton clothes to protect yourself from the heat, and an umbrella.

 

The monsoon season: Monsoon season is from July till September. Monsoon brings much-needed respite from the scorching heat and humidity. The temperature automatically drops to around 25 -28 degrees. Air is completely refined and lush greenery is all around during this time of year. The lush green landscapes and the flowing rivers are quite a picturesque backdrop to the historic sites in the Golden Triangle. The rain-washed streets of Jaipur and Delhi offer a different experience, and the pleasant weather makes it easier to explore the cities on foot. But, we might not suggest this time of the year to travel much due to flooding, storms, and incessant power cuts. 

 

The Autumn season: Autumns season is from October to November.  in North India is a wonderful time to explore the Golden Triangle. The weather is pleasant, with temperatures usually between  25°C to 30°C. Autumn is the beginning of the festive season here in India. Especially the vivid celebration of Dusherra, Diwali, and many more fairs. You can truly feel the bliss to explore and celebrate in pleasant weather with skies clear. It is quite good weather for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The autumn colors of the trees and flowers make the cities even more picturesque. And not to mention the food is especially delicious during this season.

 

The winter season: Winter season is considered the best for exploring the Golden Triangle. The winter months are from November to March first week generally.  Majority of the tourists and travelers travel during these months. The temperatures range between 5°C to 20°C. The historical marvels and palaces are even more pleasant to explore in the winter. The pleasant sun and the chilly breeze make the environment quite romantic as well. You can attend and participate in fairs and festivals of Rajasthan, such as the Jaipur Literature Festival and the Pushkar Camel Fair. Airways: Undoubtedly, Airlines are the fastest and most convenient way to travel. And notably, All three cities namely Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur own airports. Delhi: Delhi is a travelers' paradise. Delhi is indeed a capital city for a reason. Delhi is a culmination of Indian, western, Persian and so many different countries and cities influence is here. Red Fort: let us start with a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Red Fort is a stunning example of Mughal architecture. It was constructed in the 17th century, it served as the residence of the Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years. And there are multiple fun facts associated with the red fort. Such as, the Koh-i-Noor diamond was the part of furnishings at Red Fort before becoming a treasure of the British crown. The Palace of Colors is situated at the red fort. Also, previously Red Fort was called Qila-e-Mubarak, which means the blessed fort.

Qutub Minar: Well, Delhi has another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The historic Qutub Minar is a towering minaret dating back to the 12th century. It is one of the tallest brick minarets in the world 73 meters. Inside Qutab Minar, there is a 2000-year-old iron pillar that hasn’t rusted at all. Also, it is believed that Quwaat-UL-Islam is the first mosque in India. The whole premises of qutab minar are surrounded by half a dozen of minarets.

Jama Masjid: well, Jama masjid is One of the largest mosques in India. Jama Masjid is a historic landmark in Delhi. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. India Gate: India Gate is one of the major attractions in Delhi. It is not just a war memorial but also a national preserved monument. Taj Mahal: Taj Mahal, is located on the southern part of the river Yamuna. The Taj Mahal is indeed the true testimony of love and art.  Well, the Taj Mahal is a world-famous monument that is considered to be one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is a unique white marble structure surrounded by minarets and is a major attraction in Agra. we also suggest you to learn deeper about the history by taking a stroll inside the complex. The entry fees for Indians are 50 INR which is valid for 3 hours. Also, it is not valid for mausoleum entry, there is a separate charge of  200 INR (for mausoleum entry), and 1250 INR for foreigners. It is closed on Fridays.

Agra Fort: visiting Agra Fort is a must, without it Agra trip is incomplete. Well, it is another stunning monument in Agra that is worth visiting. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century. The fort is known for its impressive architecture and intricate designs. we strongly recommend you explore this red stone beauty. This Agra fort is just 2.5 km from the Taj Mahal. Entry timings are 6 am to 6 pm with a bare minimum feels for Indians of 20 INR and 300 INR for foreigners.

Taj Museum Agra: You must visit the Taj Museum and gallery to witness the glorious past. You can find here authentic miniature paintings of old decades. Also, the original ivory portraits of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. There are no entry fees. But the timings are 10 am to 5 pm IST, also closed on Fridays.

Fatehpur Sikri: Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO world heritage site. Fatehpur Sikri is a town located about 40 kilometers from Agra. It was built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century and served as the capital of the Mughal Empire for a brief period. The town is known for its impressive architecture and beautiful gardens. It is known for the blend of Persian and Mughal architecture. The timings are from sunrise to sunset. It remains closed on Fridays. The entry fee is 40 INR for Indians and 550 INR for foreigners.

Itmad-ud-Daula: Itmad-ud-Daula is also called Baby Taj. As it appears like a miniature version of the Taj. it is a beautiful tomb located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra. It was built by Nur Jahan, the wife of Emperor Jahangir, in memory of her father. You must visit this tomb to witness the intricate marble work and beautiful gardens. The timings are 6 am to 6 pm IST. fees for Indians are 10 INR, for foreigners it is 110 INR and for camer extra 25 INR.

Mehtab Bagh: This place is magical, it was built by the powerful emperor Babur. Especially Mehtab Bagh is recommended to visit during either sunrise or sundown hours. It is a beautiful garden located on the banks of the Yamuna River. It offers a stunning view of the Taj Mahal and is a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Agra. you can get some of the best shots of the Taj Mahal from here too. Every day the timings are 6 am to 6 pm. The entry fees for Indians are 15 INR and for foreigners, it is 200 INR.

This fort was the part of city’s defense circle, along with the Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort. It is also one of the recommended places to watch sunsets. The time is 9:30 am to 5:30 pm every day. Fees are very nominal 10 INR for Indians and 50 INR for foreigners.

City Palace: City Palace is located in the heart of the city and it is one of the most remarkable spots to visit. You can witness the perfect blend of Rajput and architecture. The premises also has sprawling gardens, aesthetic courtyards, royal residences, and art galleries. This palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century and is a blend of Mughal and Rajasthani architectural styles. Hawa Mahal: Also known as the Palace of Winds, this is an iconic landmark of Jaipur. It was built in 1799 and has a unique façade with 953 small windows.
